Surprising GP Friendship Centre with a Donation
ActionsGiving back to the community is what Co-op is all about.
Our Marketing Team Leader, Jody Peakman, recently engaged in a discussion with Paula Allyson, the Program Coordinator of the Friendship Centre, to understand the current needs of the organization. Following the conclusion of our fiscal year, we found ourselves with a surplus of funds in our Member Relations Account, and identified a opportunity to make a meaningful contribution. One of the standout moments of 2024 so far has been the heartwarming experience of surprising Paula and the rest of the GPFC team with a donation of $30,000.
This act of kindness not only brought joy to our friends at the Centre but will also contribute to the significant impact they make in our community every day.
The Friendship Centre’s One Window Resource program, in particular, plays a vital role in supporting at-risk individuals and families by addressing their needs and providing a safe space for assistance. Additionally, programs like the Community Kitchen, Grande Prairie Babies' Best Start, and others offered by the Friendship Centre further exemplify their dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of many.
Being able to support the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre is a source of immense pride for us. The varied programs and initiatives run by the Centre not only provide practical assistance but also foster a sense of community and support for those in need.
