Good Buy to Hunger 2025: Supporting Food Security in Our Communities

Good Buy to Hunger is one of the many initiatives New Horizon Co-op proudly supports to strengthen the communities we serve. While Good Buy to Hunger Bags are available for purchase year-round, our biggest campaign push happens each November and December as we head into the holiday season. Throughout December, members can support the program by purchasing Good Buy to Hunger Bags, buying window decals, or donating to our coinboxes located throughout our stores.

Once again in 2025, New Horizon Co-op is pledging to match donations up to $15,000 to help maximize the impact of your generosity.

Local food banks, soup kitchens, emergency drop-in centres, and school breakfast and lunch programs are among the many groups supported through this initiative. Thanks to your contributions, communities including Grande Prairie, Clairmont, Sexsmith, Rycroft, La Glace, Beaverlodge, Hythe, Grande Cache, Falher, Smoky River, Valleyview, and Spirit River receive much-needed assistance each year.

New Horizon Co-op is committed to championing local efforts that improve food security and ensure families have access to nutritious meals. For more than 20 years, our members and customers have helped make Good Buy to Hunger a success and we’re excited to continue that impact together in 2025.

In 2024, thanks to window decal sales, coinbox donations, Good Buy to Hunger Bag purchases, and a $15,000 match from New Horizon Co-op, we raised an incredible $51,812.62! 💰💖

As we launch our 2025 campaign, we’re once again calling on our community to help make a meaningful difference. Every bag purchased, every coin dropped, and every decal sold helps support neighbours in need. Together, we can make this year our strongest yet! ❤️👏
